About the Author
Award-winning playwright and screenwriter Bill Svanoe created highly acclaimed television movies including Miles to Go, which won a Christopher Award; Terror on the Beach; Returning Home; Superdome; The Cardboard House; The Dreammakers; and Sparks. His films include Waltz Across Texas, starring Anne Archer, and Fatal Beauty, starring Whoopi Goldberg. He taught playwriting and screenwriting for seven years at UNC Chapel Hill and teaches at festivals and forums around the country (write to Lil Bear Books, below, for details). His first play, The Newstand, won New Playwright Awards in New York and Holland. The Black Duck, Punch and Judy, Callback, and The Last Laugh have been published (available soon in editions), and five plays were produced in Los Angeles. Trader Jack headlined a Key West Theatre Festival. Bargain Table was produced in Santa Fe. His Grammy nominated recording of Walk Right In, with The Rooftop Singers, was #1 for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and appears in the movie Forrest Gump. He lives with his wife, Emmy Award winning director and actress Joan Darling, in Kennebunkport, Maine.
